Even if you caught the MTV 2012 Video Music Awards, you may have overlooked the fact that Lil Wayne was wearing Beats by Dre headphones through the show. Why? Well, he apparently has an endorsement deal with Dr. Dre's company. Fair enough, but why would he wear them at an event where people will be trying to have conversations with him? Well, maybe he's crazy.

In the new episode of Guy Code Presents... "Hood State of the Union," Charlamagne and Lil Duval discuss their theories on Lil Wayne's actions and try to make sense of the lyrics on his latest mixtape. Ultimately, though, it may just boil down to the fact that Weezy is not "quite with us" anymore.

Since we're the Guy Code Blog, you can call us homers, but we're picking Melanie Iglesias for Best Inside-Boob at the 2012 Video Music Awards. I mean, you don't have to be an expert on the subject, like we are, to see this dress is seriously sexy and revealing. Can you imagine trying to stand behind her and maintaining composure? Nearly impossible! Andrew Schulz did a good job during their red carpet interview, but he still mentioned them toward the end.

"Guy Code" stars Lil Duval, Melanie Iglesias, Charlamagne Tha God and Andrew Schulz attended last night's 2012 Video Music Awards. "Teen Wolf" star Holland Roden met them on the red carpet for an MTV Style interview. Watch Roden try to ask the same questions she asked everyone else and see the cast throw her for a loop. While she doesn't seem to know who they are beforehand, she will no doubt remember them now.

Ugh, musicians. Not the manliest group of guys as a whole. They used be all about sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. Now you might find those same guys spending two seasons judging "American Idol." However, don't fret, there are some musicians who still carry the badass torch and follow Guy Code. In fact, we found five who were nominated in tonight's 2012 Video Music Awards (8/7c) on MTV.

1. Imagine Dragons

Though the name "Imagine Dragons" definitely causes this VMA-nominated band for Best Rock Video to lose some points on the guy scale, here's a fact that doesn't: they recorded their debut album in a Las Vegas casino. A casino! Gambling, booze, hookers--now that's a guy-friendly work environment, am I right?

Sure, in most states it's "legal" to go to a club and meet women by yourself, but you're better off bringing some company. Same goes for hip-hop music: life's easier when you have someone helping you with your dirty work, whether it be counting cash, throwing cash or doing something else with cash.

That's why if you look at the 2012 Video Music Award nominations for Best Hip-Hop Video, four of the five songs have more than one artist. Having a wingman, like having a featured artist, just makes sense. Here are four reasons why, based on the Best Hip-Hop Video nominees:

Both compliment your image.

Look, Drake's a good looking guy. We can all agree with that. Drake especially would agree with that. But Drake's image is a lot like his haircut: nice and clean. And women like bad boys (thus the popularity of the movie franchise "Bad Boys"), so if you're clean cut, it can behoove you to have a wingman with a little edge. Maybe a guy with long hair, some tattoos… maybe he did a little jail time. Drake knows what I'm talking about. It also doesn't hurt to get a "Lil" guy either. Makes you look taller.

In today's "Hood State of the Union," Charlamagne tha God and Lil Duval discuss 2012 Video Music Awards nominee for Best Male Video and Best New Artist, Frank Ocean. While Duval makes a few jokes about the implications behind some of Ocean's lyrics and album title The Sweet Life now that the singer has admitted to being gay, both agree it's brave to be honest with the public and commend him for being real. No doubt Charlamagne and Duval will be cheering for Frank Ocean tonight as they attend the VMAs along with fellow "Guy Code" castmembers Melanie Iglesias and Andrew Schulz.
