About Us

Welcome to GUY CODE, the official blog of MTV2's "Guy Code" series and your online destination for all things dude, including—but not limited to—irreverent commentary on sports, hip-hop and ladies. Stay awhile and flex your manhood.

The results for our "Guy Code" Season 1 Bracket of Wisdom are in! Melanie Iglesias's Getting Freaky has beat out The Crew's Julian McCullough with 69% of the vote (seriously, that's the real percentage). She's taking home the big prize, or trophy, or whatever we've got lying around the office. We'll give it to her to commemorate this incredible triumph. In a field rich with wisdom, the winning nugget was offered by a hot chick, which is essentially the only way useful advice effectively works on a man. So maybe this result shouldn't be terribly surprising.

What was Ms. Iglesias's winning bit of knowledge? It was this:

"You know you've gone too far when your partner just stops having sex with you."

Well put, Melanie, well put. If that sort of blabber came out of a man's mouth, all we'd hear is a droning hum while we scanned the horizon for something more interesting. Watch Guy Code on MTV2 for more words to live by (sometimes delivered by hot girls). Also, check back with Clutch later this week--we'll have an exclusive clip from the upcoming special "Guy Code Spring Break Survival Guide" airing April 10 at 11 p.m. on MTV2.

Last night on "The Pauly D Project," America finally got to see what our favorite shellack-haired star of "Jersey Shore" is up to when he's not scoping prospects at Karma and pranking his spray-tanned housemates. And we have even more Pauly D shine for you! MTV Clutch sat down with the DJ to talk about pre-fame life, girls and being the most famous Rhode Islander since the Farrelly Brothers.

Believe it or not, the man who coined "Cabs are heeyah!" was once just like you and me. He gave girls cheesy mixtapes filled with Usher songs (we're guessing he was more successful, though). You'll also want to check out the video to find out which NBA player's album he'd want to produce and how long it takes him to trust a girl enough to let her touch his hair. You know how much of a player he is when it comes to bedding the ladies of Jersey? Yeah, it's the exact opposite of that. Also, be sure to watch "The Pauly D Project" Thursdays at 10:30 p.m. on MTV.

In honor of April Fools' Day on Sunday, we've gone into the vault and chosen one of of our favorite prank videos of the viral age for Today's Dumbass. There are plenty to choose from, but this was one of the first to go spread like herpes, and rightfully so. It comes from an early episode of SyFy's "Scare Tactics" show. Without giving away too much: An animal rights activist is given a fake job in a Dr. Moreau-type nightmare lab, where he's told human DNA was spliced with animal DNA.

First, he hears some eery noises and animals shuffling around, then he sees some sort of quasi-human fetus in a jar. And then, it just gets twisted and hilarious. Few prank shows have a payoff as hysterical and shrieky as this one. Also, pretty sure we saw that creature in the subway on the way to work this morning. Just kidding, we work from our bedrooms.

HBO's epic blood 'n' boobs series "Game of Thrones" returns on Sunday, and in addition to more blood and boobs, we're guaranteed that war is coming. Well, color us excited. This is a geek show that everybody can geek out over. Ladies love the romance, dudes love the aforementioned B&B combo, geeks love the fantastical creatures and fictional kingdoms and hill-people love the rampant incest. It's truly a series for all kinds. For the purposes of this article though, we're talking about one thing: Game of Babes.  There are plenty of them. And they get naked a lot.

Below we have the seven main babes from the show and what you need to know about them before you watch the Season 2 premiere this weekend. Thanks to these medieval lasses, war isn't the only thing coming...slo-mo DVR playback is, too. (What did you think we meant?) Read More...

It's not all that hard to imagine Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim as college kids, but in this clip from mtvU's "When I Was In College," they describe their experience in only a way that Tim & Eric can. The team actually met while they were undergrads at Philadelphia's Temple University. Their educational background in media production is no doubt what gives their shows the aesthetic brand they've become well known for.

The poor young man in the interview is doing his best not to get railroaded by the comfortably absurd and oddly well-dressed duo. As with most Tim and Eric interviews, any real in-depth answers are pretty much avoided. There's a lot of talk of a crazy jazz bar on the Temple campus where the school jazz band played for an entire half-hour once. It's standard Tim and Eric talk, but if you look hard enough, you can get a few nuggets of useful info, and it's always clear to see that their chemistry goes back a long way.

To us, it's always been clear that Pauly D is the star of "Jersey Shore." He's been constantly front-and-center, even though he rarely got embarrassingly drunk onscreen and generally stayed out of the fray when it came to mindless squabbling. And despite being one of the more ridiculous-looking cast members, he's clever and charismatic and, oh yeah, he actually had a real job DJing before he became a star.

So we're excited about his new show "The Pauly D Project." It'll follow the "Jersey Shore" golden boy as he tries to become the biggest party DJ in the world (and the tannest) with his friends from home along for the ride (sorry, Vinny). It's like a real-life "Entourage" but way less douchey.

The series premieres tomorrow at 10:30 p. m. on MTV. But for now, here's an exclusive preview clip in which Pauly takes a break from dropping the bass to drop knowledge on how to roll VIP into Vegas nightclubs.

Welcome to Round Three of the "Guy Code" Bracket Of Wisdom! On Monday, you narrowed down your favorite wisdom from Season 1 of the MTV2 hit show and we have your Elite Eight results. Click the topics below to watch video of the categories and make sure to vote for the Final Four after the cut.

In the Relationships division, The Friend Zone beat out Girlfriends with 58.6 percent of the votes. Looks like our readers may be stuck in unwanted territory. That or they all just think Julian McCullough is f***ing hilarious. In the fan-favorite division, Sex, Getting Freaky narrowly won this round with 51.55 percent of the votes over The Morning After. We assume you're all into weird kinks and totally in lust with Melanie Iglesias. We don't blame you.

In The Crew division, Wingman sweeps Pregame Etiquette away with 71.73 percent of the vote. Yet another double win for all-star representative McCullough. Looks like we might have a tournament MVP on our hands. And finally in Upkeep's division, it seems our readers got over their body image issues, choosing Manscaping over Dieting with roughly 66 percent of the votes.

Vote to determine the Championship contenders and remember to check back on Friday, March 30 for the results and the Final Two round of voting. At the end of this tournament, we will unlock an exclusive clip from the upcoming special "Guy Code Spring Break Survival Guide" premiering April 10 at 11 p.m. on MTV2.

Tuesdays are awful. Mondays, you expect to suck hard. But Tuesdays are worse, because you realize, "S***, we still have four days left in this miserable nightmare and I'm dragging ass from my awful Monday."

Thankfully, Tuesdays just got a lot better thanks to MTV2's "Nitro Circus Live." Join 17-time X Games gold medalist Travis Pastrana and some familiar "Nitro Circus" faces as they go Down Under with all the action and behind-the-scenes high jinks of their extreme sports road show. It'll be like you're part of the Nitro crew. The lazy, unskilled, freeloading part (hey, every crew needs one).

Honestly, we have no witticisms or filthy jokes to make here, because the show is simply THAT badass. Tune in tonight at 11 p.m. on MTV2 to see extreme wheelchair athlete Aaron Fotheringham accomplish feats that most people with working legs would never even dream of trying. If that weren't enough, you get another episode at 11:30 p.m. with the balls-out incredible Cam Sinclair. In 2009, he attempted a double backflip in a motocross run, and the crash left him in a coma and partially paralyzed. After months of recovery and rehabilitation, Cam's back and trying it again tonight.

Check out sneak peeks of tonight's episodes below.

Season 5 of "Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory" just started and it's already clear that this season is bigger and more ridiculous than ever. Already pro skater/aspiring daredevil/MTV stalwart Dyrdek has executed a car stunt that's only been done by four people before him, started a burrito business and filmed a rap video.

By the way, that's his job. There's a reason it's called "Fantasy Factory." Rest assured, whether you're in school or at work, whatever you're doing right now, Rob Dyrdek is doing something a lot cooler. And that should give you hope. Hope that one day, you, too, can break free from the rat race. But until that happens, you get to live vicariously through Rob. So check out 10 things Rob's done this season that will make you want to watch "Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory." Be sure to tune in to new episodes Monday nights at 10p/9c on MTV for your stunt and prank fix. Read More...
