Welcome to GUY CODE, the official blog of MTV2's "Guy Code" series and your online destination for all things dude, including—but not limited to—irreverent commentary on sports, hip-hop and ladies. Stay awhile and flex your manhood.
Alesha Renee did two seasons of "Guy Code" before moving on to the pinker pastures of "Girl Code." We missed her take in season three, so we caught her during a shoot and asked her some of your questions from Twitter and Facebook.
Want to know how to pick up girls at the gym? How about whether women ever respond to cat calls? And have you ever thought about what Tourettes Syndrome code would be? Alesha breaks this all down and more in the following video.
Our boy Damien Lemon is starring in a new web series called "D.Lemon in the Morning." He plays a morning radio DJ, who coincidentally has the same name. His show is ranked fourth in the city and it could get to number one, but Lemon is going to have a tough time making that happen with two co-hosts who might land them all in jail and listeners who might also land his ass in jail. The first episode is funny as hell and we look forward to watching more.
We don't know much about Dutch dance and electro house music, but after watching this video, we're going start studying up. THUMP, the new electronic music and culture channel from VICE, has just released a new video of Melanie Iglesias seduced by a raver's glowing fingers as the Dutch electro house banger "Buzzcut" from the DJ duo Bingo Players plays in the background. There really aren't words for it, other than an open-mouthed, "Wow."
"Girl Code" discusses masturbation tonight, so we're jumping in.
Even a celibate monk could come up with a laundry list of terms for male masturbation. But even though females masturbate too (though, surely not as much as us), oddly there are very few mainstream slang terms for this glorious act. Let's change that, guys, and let girls know it's perfectly fine if they...
1. Diddle yourself
Amongst a sea of crass terms for the act, this is the most pleasant. Why, it almost sounds like something your grandma would've said back when she was young diddler! Read More...
"Guy Code" fans know that Chris Distefano is funny...and his girlfriend, Carly Aquilino from "Girl Code" may be just as good. We already brought you the story of how they met (and Chris's confession that he's the little spoon while cuddling), and now they're laying down the law on "Dating Code." Watch the video below for their takes on how soon each partner should reply to a text, who pays for dinner and acceptable fart volume. Hey, all couples will gross you out, but at least this one will make you laugh too.
+ Watch "Girl Code" every Tuesday at 10:30/9:30c on MTV
Of course, Melanie could only answer a fraction of her fans' questions. And most of them were just requests for follow-backs (or gross/creepy comments--guys, that's not getting you anywhere), but some were funny, bizarre and even thought-provoking...well, the ones that weren't hopeless marriage proposals, anyway. Read 'em after the jump!
"Game of Thrones" geeks like us and Jon Gabrus were really stoked on last week's episode. While this week's installment, entitled "Kissed By Fire," is great as well, it left us wanting more...more of what exactly? Well, you'll have to watch Gabrus's video below for that. He gives a short recap of this week's episode with the Most Guy Code Moment as the kicker.
Damien Lemon has made us crack up, hard, on season after season of "Guy Code." It's about damn time he got more recognition, and the fine folks at Esquire agree. The magazine that published F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, Norman Mailer, Tom Wolfe and Truman Capote just called Damien an "underrated comic" and "deceptively wise."
That's kind of a big deal, to put it mildly. Even more flattering, since Esquire is an authority on style, they praise Damien's fashion sense...if not his choice of automobile:
"He's a snappy dresser. He's one of those guys who leaves his shirt on the back of the chair before his set so it doesn't get wrinkled. He drives a beat-up Toyota Corolla. Everything about him is 'fresh' but his car is a real s*** box!"
Hey, at least a backhanded compliment is still a compliment. Congrats to Damien! Check out the whole profile here.
In this half-hour comedic courtroom series, which follows "Girl Code" in the evolving "Guy Code" franchise, viewers will witness a variety of cases--from the guy who dates his friend's ex without asking permission, to the roommate who refuses to wear deodorant. The cases are real stories from real people who've fallen victim to Code violations.
With the plaintiff and defendant front and center, the judge will hear both sides of the story...and rule accordingly. Each case will be will judged, defended and prosecuted with the perfect combination of comedy and justice. The guilt or innocence of each individual will be decided in accordance with Guy Code.
Basically, it's like if "Judge Judy" had a pair of...well, an even bigger pair of balls.
