About Us

Welcome to GUY CODE, the official blog of MTV2's "Guy Code" series and your online destination for all things dude, including—but not limited to—irreverent commentary on sports, hip-hop and ladies. Stay awhile and flex your manhood.

nerds

Once upon a time, it was easy to differentiate nerds from the popular crowd. They were the bespectacled outsiders who spent their time tapping keyboards rather than tapping kegs or tapping asses. No one "tried" to be a nerd. It wasn't a fashion choice. Some guys were simply predestined by nature to be too intelligent for their own good and insufficiently sociable.

However, somewhere in the last five years, being a nerd became cool. Kevin Durant, one of the best three basketball players in the world, wears dorky glasses and carries a backpack to press conferences like he's just stopping by on his way to math club. The cast of "Guy Code," some of whom are legitimate old-school nerds, discuss this trend in tomorrow night's new episode and we have a sneak peek here:

You know the old saying, "Bros before hoes." We call it an "old saying" because that's really what it is, it's passe. Guys know they'd rather be with ladies than hanging at a sausage fest with their bros. After all, we love our homies and we'd take a punch in the face for them, but let's be honest, we don't want to get naked with them. And that's what it really comes down to...chicks will get naked with us if we're nice and spend time with them. Don't sell your buddies out for some random one-night-stand, but also don't be mad at your friend for spending a bunch of time with his new girlfriend. Charlagmagne sums it all up in this quick Pro Tip, "Chicks Before D*cks."

mac miller

On last night's "Guy Code" (watch full episode here), Mac Miller gave you some rapid-fire Pro Tips. A little unorthodox, sure, but he's the first non-"Guy Code" cast member to do it, so the moment called for innovation.

Well, there's a bunch more where that came from. In these clips from the "Cutting Room Floor," Mac gives you Pro Tips on everything from smoothies to prostate stimulation to stealing money from your grandma. (Maybe she only gave you a fiver for your birthday?)

Watch the outtakes, then watch Mac on "The Most Dope Family," premiering this Tuesday after "Guy Code" on MTV2.

melanie-interviewing

On last night's "Guy Code," the busty Melanie Iglesias taught us the difference in cleavage posturing when she's interviewing for a job with a woman versus interviewing with a man. We assume she's never not gotten a job where a man is doing the hiring.

The cast discussed all of the ins and outs of Interviewing, plus Puberty, Being Whipped and Sleeping. There was a lot of info. You should really watch the episode (again) to get it all, but here are some of the best GIFs and Images from last night to help you along.

Nothing can stop you after watching tonight's "Guy Code," whether it's growing pains or a control freak girlfriend or some H.R. professional who acts more like an interrogator than an interviewer. But you've still got a few things to learn...

In these clips from the "Cutting Room Floor," Chris Distefano confesses his worst job interview lie, Donnell Rawlings recounts how snoring ruined his relationship and Jon Gabrus explains the upside of letting your woman boss you around: "It's called 'p***y whipped' for a reason."

lisa-ramos

In the newest episode of "Guy Code," we learned that no matter how cool people are as adults, everyone is awkward-as-f**k during puberty. To prove this fact, many of the cast-members were willing to share their personal school photos from that era. Some of them have turned from nerdy ducklings into muscular swans (like Charlamagne) while others still look the same (like Lil Duval). While Lisa Ramos is much prettier now, she has the same closed-mouth pucker grin. And while Andrew Schulz is much wittier now, he has the same sized nose as his prepubescent self. See below for the cast-members who are brave enough to show off their younger, dorkier selves.

howd he

You see it all the time: Some troll-ass guy pawing a chick who could be a model. It makes no sense whatsoever. What's his secret? Is he a billionaire? Ridiculously well-endowed? Or maybe some ladies just care about personality above all else?

On tonight's "Guy Code," Andrew Schulz went out on the streets to ask New Yorkers about "How'd-he," as in "How'd he get with her?" Plus, Andrew pondered a deeper philosophical question: "Don't we all want to be 'How'd-Hes'?"

Check out the full video from tonight's episode!

Mac Miller is definitely one of the most unique rappers we've seen in recent memory. So, it makes total sense that he'd deliver one of the most unusual Pro Tip videos we've seen on "Guy Code." The leader of "The Most Dope Family," which premieres next Tuesday after "Guy Code" on MTV2, actually squeezes three tips in one video (kinda). We're not sure how much you'll really learn from each of them, but you'll definitely laugh. And we guarantee you'll learn at least one thing, how to fart around girls.

find-ways-to-stand-out

In today's ultra-competitive job market, every guy needs a strategy for standing out from the pack. Luckily, the cast members of "Guy Code" have never been good at "blending in," so they're the perfect people to tell you how to be unique. It's a given that you should "fudge the facts" (or outright lie) on your resume, but that still won't be enough to land you a dream job (unless you're a "Catch Me If You Can"-level liar).  You need to be a master of small-talk and relate to your potential employer like an old frat buddy (without being too familiar). It's a delicate art, and you get to see a sneak peek of the cast's advice from tonight's new episode below:

puberty

It's cool being a kid, 'cause you get to play with toys and have no responsibilities. And it's cool being a man, 'cause you get to make money and then buy beer with it. But there's a horrible in-between stage when your voice cracks, your skin looks terrible, your legs hurt from growth spurts and you're just all-around freakish.

In this clip from next week's "Guy Code," the cast reveals their worst puberty memories and their worst puberty photos. We've all been there, and never want to go back. (Well, maybe Lil Duval hasn't been there yet...)
