About Us

Welcome to GUY CODE, the official blog of MTV2's "Guy Code" series and your online destination for all things dude, including—but not limited to—irreverent commentary on sports, hip-hop and ladies. Stay awhile and flex your manhood.

Everyone loves knockouts, and the world of mixed martial arts is full of them: 2011 had a plethora of great knockouts that were equal parts brutal and beautiful. It's rather difficult to find the 10 best of the year, but alas, the good folks over here at MTV Clutch managed to pick our favorites and present the awesome GIFs as accompaniment so you can witness them again and again and again. It's hard to get tired of watching someone get knocked senseless. Honestly, it makes us giggle like schoolgirls, and that almost never happens (in public).

No, it wasn't a pay-per-view but the finale of "The Ultimate Fighter: Team Mayhem vs. Team Bisping" was as exciting as any PPV you've shelled out money to buy. With the bad blood between Michael Bisping and Jason "Mayhem" Miller reaching a boiling point and the UFC's first bantamweight and featherweight tournament finals, we just knew something special was going to happen that night. Guess what? It did.

If "Thugs Need Hugs" were a slogan for an MMA fighter, "The Ultimate Fighter: Team Mayhem vs. Team Bisping" bantamweight finalist John Dodson would own that title. The 5-foot-3 bantamweight may smile constantly, but once that cage door closes he means business, even if he is smiling while punching your teeth down your throat. The happiest fighter ever seen on the reality series, Dodson earned the right to face T.J. Dillashaw in the "TUF" Finale on Saturday, Dec. 3 for a six-figure UFC contract. MTV Clutch caught up with the diminutive Dodson before he has the biggest fight of his career to discuss the reality series, his upcoming fight and if anything gets him upset.

Chael Sonnen told us that he would turn it down a notch as the host of the 2011 Fighters Only World MMA Awards so he could let all of the fighters have the spotlight for one night. For some reason we believed him. No less than 120 seconds into the show, the Sonnen we've all come to know and love started letting one-liners rip at a rapid pace that rivals your favorite punch line emcee. There were so many to choose from, but we narrowed it down to six of our favorites and delivered our own analysis of how hard-hitting they were.

If talking trash won fights, Chael Sonnen would be the heavyweight champion of the world. The man with the golden mouthpiece must have Vince McMahon waiting for the day Sonnen decides he's done with real fighting and wants to join the WWE. He's obviously the best choice to host the 2011 Fighters Only World MMA Awards, which takes place tonight, Nov. 30, in Las Vegas. MTV Clutch talked to Sonnen before his hosting duties to discuss the show, Anderson Silva and why he dissed ring girl Arianny Celeste.

MMA expert, Andreas Hale, will be attending the awards tonight and live-tweeting the event for MTV Clutch. Make sure to follow us for his updates.

The season finale of Bellator didn't feature the fireworks that we expected to witness. Instead, we were treated to a devastating kick in the balls and a fighter gracefully bowing out after being embarrassed in front of his hometown fans due to a controversial finish.

Sore Nuts Award

The heavyweight tournament finale between Thiago Santos and Eric Prindle was expected to see two monsters slug it out and earn a title shot against Cole Konrad. Well, things didn't exactly go as planned. After taking Prindle down one minute into the fight, Santos rose to his feet and stared at the downed Prindle. Usually, this is where the fighter either kicks at the legs of his opponent or allows him to get back to his feet. For some reason, Santos instead inexplicably tried to kick a field goal with Prindle's nuts as every man on earth winced. Needless to say, Prindle writhed in pain and could not continue. Referee Greg Franklin called a foul on Santos, said it was incidental (how?), called off the fight and ruled it a no-contest. We guess there won't be a tournament winner until 2012 now. Hopefully Prindle (and his family jewels) will be ready by then.

Stephan Bonnar hasn't fought since last December, so you better believe he's ready to get in the cage and whoop some ass when he faces Kyle Kingsbury at UFC 139 on Nov. 19. Prior to his big fight, MTV Clutch caught up with "The American Psycho" to discuss collecting bonus checks, his Punch Buddies clothing line and why his best move is getting punched in the face.

What was it like sitting on the sidelines for almost a year?
It sucked. I had three good fights last year and my plan was take a couple of months to invest in my business and get the Punch Buddies line going and I did that. I wanted to fight in June but that filled up quick so the earliest I could fight was in August. I ended up hurting my knee and had to be sidelined for three months. But I'm healed up and ready to fight. I need this fight, I need this win, I need the bonus and that's what I'm going for.

This weekend saw the UFC's debut on Fox and Bellator's two tournament final battles that should have quenched the bloodthirst for fight fans. Well, one of those fights probably left you still hungry. We feel sorry for the poor guy who went to the bathroom during the UFC's big heavyweight tilt. We feel your pain bro, just hold it next time. Nevertheless, we pass out our awards for this weekend's most amazing action.
