About Us

Welcome to GUY CODE, the official blog of MTV2's "Guy Code" series and your online destination for all things dude, including—but not limited to—irreverent commentary on sports, hip-hop and ladies. Stay awhile and flex your manhood.

This past weekend's Bellator 61 kicked off the middleweight tournament as eight fighters battle for the right to face current champion Hector Lombard. Each were looking to impress, as Lombard is easily the most devastating and dominant champion in all of Bellator. Nobody really believes he can be beat, but these middleweights did their best to strike fear into the heart of the champion. One guy definitely made his impression on viewers with a highlight reel knockout. It deserved one of our three Clutch MMA Awards this week and was something you damn sure don't want to miss.

Giva Santana's eyes water as he explains what he believes is his God-given gift of fighting, but don't let that trick you into thinking he's weak. He wasn't nicknamed "The Arm Collector" after his bulging biceps. He won't hold back against his opponent Bruno Santos, saying, "a lot of people [are] going to be hurt when they see that I won the Bellator Championship." His strategy, suggested by his nickname, is known to all: grab an arm and trap it in an armbar until Santos surrenders.

But anything is possible in the cage and Bruno Santos isn't playing any games. "The ability to fight runs through my veins," says the undefeated fighter, speaking of how he learned to defend himself from his kick-ass, karate fighting mother. "The only thing Giva is going to collect is a beating." We'll find out tomorrow if Santana adds Santos' arms to his collection or if Santos holds onto his winning streak.

The "Bellator Fighting Championships" continue Friday, March 16 at 8p/7c., live on MTV2. Watch the preview below.

The sixth season of the Bellator Fighting Championships kicked off with a bang this past weekend as the 145 pounders clobbered each other in the featherweight tournament and the champion of the division, Joe Warren, defended the belt against last season's tournament winner Pat Curran. Suffice to say that there were some asses kicked on Friday night. In true Clutch fashion, we decided to focus our weekly MMA awards on the new season of Bellator. Who won our unique awards for the season premiere? Pop the hood and find out!

While college kids in tank tops and shorts go insane with March Madness, the real madness begins this Friday with a tournament that features guys trying to punch each other's lights out or rip a limb clean off their opponent. We don't know about you, but violence just gets us all giddy like schoolgirls watching Justin Bieber in 3-D.

Yes, the Bellator Fighting Championships are back and it couldn’t have come at a better time. We thank you, MMA-based gods!

With both the UFC and Strikeforce on hiatus until April 14, it's only right for Bellator to resume and ensure our appetite for pain and fisticuffs is fed properly. Season 6 begins with a 145 lb. bag of dynamite on Friday, March 9 as the featherweight tournament kicks off and the king of the division, trash-talking Joe Warren, defends his title.

Anchors Away

"I believe that I was intrigued by the machinery, and curious to see if I could operate it," says the guy who got drunk and dropped the 18-ton anchor on a cruise ship carrying 1,600 people. That'll cost him two months in prison.

"Rowdy" Ronda Rousey is much more than a pretty face. Beneath those good looks lies a woman that will rip your arm off given the opportunity. The 2008 judo Olympic medalist began her professional MMA career in 2011 and has amassed a record of 4-0--with all of her victories coming via arm bar in under 50 seconds. Yes, like Wu-Tang Clan, Ronda Rousey is nothing to f*** with. Now the trash talking, rowdy one will get her chance at Strikeforce Women's gold when she faces Bantamweight champ Miesha Tate on Saturday, March 3. The buildup for the fight found Ms. Rousey verbally tormenting her foe and turned their fight into must-see TV. The fact that two hot chicks are fighting also helps. MTV Clutch caught up with the judo expert and discussed Miesha Tate, her MMA and trash talking origins, ripping off Hulk Hogan's arm, keeping her goodies in the jar and if she's single and ready to mingle.

Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight champion Miesha Tate is a hottie with a body. Not to mention that she can kick some major ass (hence, the reason why she's the bantamweight champ). This Saturday she will face undefeated "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey in the main event of Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey. But you see, it's bigger than two hot chicks throwing down. These two legitimately don't like each other. Actually, it might be closer to hate than dislike. MTV Clutch sat down with Ms. Tate to discuss the upcoming fight, her hatred for Rousey, how she wants to "maim" Rousey and why her opponent is nothing more than a trash talking fraud who isn't ready to see her own blood.

The UFC returned to Japan for the first time in nearly 12 years and boy, did they put on a show. The massive seven fight main card produced some truly epic moments. Comebacks, knockouts, classic fights and submissions were littered throughout. It was rather difficult to hand out awards this week considering the card reeked of awesomeness, but we managed to do it anyway. We're sure you can find better things to complain about.

They call Ben Henderson "Smooth"; however, he has been anything but since debuting in the UFC after losing the WEC lightweight title in December 2010. You might as well call him "Savage," as Henderson has brutalized his last three opponents and has set himself up for a showdown with lightweight champion Frankie Edgar at UFC 144 in Japan on Feb. 25. The relaxed Christian fighter called MTV Clutch from Japan to discuss his new aggressive attitude, finding out he has 30 cousins he's never met before and his plan to bring the UFC lightweight title--along with a piece of Frankie Edgar--home with him on Saturday.
