About Us

Welcome to GUY CODE, the official blog of MTV2's "Guy Code" series and your online destination for all things dude, including—but not limited to—irreverent commentary on sports, hip-hop and ladies. Stay awhile and flex your manhood.

Fabolous has been East Coast rap star since 2001's "Can't Deny It," so being at the 2012 NBA All-Star Weekend is old hat to him. He's taking all the V.I.P. parties, strippers and celebrities in stride. Mr. Ghetto Fabolous even has plans to take his son to Disney World afterward because he is a pro and not at all exhausted by All-Star Weekend. However, you know what is not old hat to Fabolous? Doing the most amazing interview ever with MTV Clutch's The Check-In!

You'd think after a dozen years in the game, Fabolous has been asked every question in the book. Not true. The Check-In hosts, Eric and Jeff Rosenthal, dream up some angles that catch this straight gangsta off guard and make him laugh--something you don't often see from him. Have you ever considered the comparisons between the famous Atlanta strip-club Magic City and Orlando aka Magic City? No, you haven't. And neither had this rapper until this perfect interview:

Wale is a big sports buff, so it makes sense that The Check-In would catch him down in Orlando during the 2012 NBA All-Star Weekend. Being from Washington DC, the rapper is a diehard Washington Wizards fan. However, Wale is able to get past the heartbreak that John Wall and JaVale McGee are serving up this season, and talk seriously about hoops...well, as serious as hosts Eric and Jeff Rosenthal get about anything. The trio discuss which is more difficult: the New Jersey Nets turning Brook Lopez into Dwight Howard or turning a hoe into a housewife? They also debate whether Kris Humphries was kept out of the All-Star Game due to a Kardashian konspiracy. Just like Wale is never at a loss for words on the mic, he always has a perfect answer for every question. Either that, or we're just too hypnotized by his dreadlocks to disagree.

Dwyane Wade's name is always in the conversation when discussing the NBA's alpha dogs. While we're still taking LeBron James over him for our fantasy basketball teams, Wade is our first pick for fantasy best friend. First of all, he's the snappiest dresser in the Association. So, if you're roughly his size, you'd get all of his awesome hand-me-down suits, ties, sweater vests, shoes, etc. Second, he's dating model/actress Gabrielle Union, who is not only super hot but seems like one of the chillest ladies in Miami. So, you'd get to hang on the beach with her all the time. Third, D. Wade is a great laugher, which is an underrated attribute of fantasy best friends. You want to be able to laugh a lot with them.

The Check-In at the 2012 NBA All-Star Weekend got a small taste of what it'd be like to be pals with Miami Heat's shooting guard. Before the fifth annual Wade's World Foundation All-Star Luncheon, the proceeds of which benefit the Orlando-based charity Tangelo Park Program, Eric and Jeff Rosenthal joked around with him about "Basketball Wives," Chris Bosh and outrageous strategies for the NBA All-Star game-plan. You will enjoy this video immensely and from now on, put D. Wade on your all-time fantasy best friends list.

Dwight Howard may be leaving the Orlando Magic soon, but for this weekend, he is the unofficial ambassador of the city for the 2012 NBA All-Star Weekend. The 6'11", three-time Defensive Player of the Year and six-time All-Star center is as comfortable on camera, joking around with MTV Clutch's The Check-In, as he is blocking shot out into the stands. When hosts Eric and Jeff Rosenthal launch into their energetic, patented "A.K.A.s" opening, Howard doesn't miss a beat and introduces himself as, "A.k.a. Chocolate Shoulders, a.k.a. Superman, a.k.a. I-Dunk-On-You-And-Block-Your-Shot-And-Smile-In-Your-Face-At-The-Same-Time." Wow, that has to be the single longest a.k.a. yet!

While The Check-In has many memorably-funny episodes, this video with Dwight Howard may be their funniest yet. Not only is it visually hilarious, with the huge Howard draping over the diminutive Jewish brothers, but he plays along with everything and all of answers will make you laugh. For example, what is one of the things you must look out for when choosing a "basketball wife"? Weird toes. You don't want a woman with messed up toes. But don't just take our word for it...

"Jersey Shore"'s Vinny Guadagnino rallied his Twitter followers to demand that the MTV star appear in the 2012 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game and it worked! He made the East's lineup alongside comedian Kevin Hart, rapper J. Cole and U.S. Secretary of Education/former Harvard forward Arne Duncan with Orlando Magic star Dwight Howard as coach. Vinny contributed some points and his team ended up running away with the game, with Hart winning the MVP despite getting ejected from the game!

MTV Clutch's The Check-In caught Vinny before the game for an interview. You can clearly see he is in high spirits going into his NBA debut. He doesn't even get thrown when the guys throw him some trash talk, ask him about his down-low game with Snooki or question his ability to score without Pauly D around. We're sure you've seen countless interviews with Vinny, but we're also absolutely positive you've never seen one like this before.

They call Ben Henderson "Smooth"; however, he has been anything but since debuting in the UFC after losing the WEC lightweight title in December 2010. You might as well call him "Savage," as Henderson has brutalized his last three opponents and has set himself up for a showdown with lightweight champion Frankie Edgar at UFC 144 in Japan on Feb. 25. The relaxed Christian fighter called MTV Clutch from Japan to discuss his new aggressive attitude, finding out he has 30 cousins he's never met before and his plan to bring the UFC lightweight title--along with a piece of Frankie Edgar--home with him on Saturday.

Since interviewing Diggy Simmons recently, The Check-In hosts Eric and Jeff Rosenthal have felt a real connection with the young star. Diggy even signed their yearbooks! Well, it turns out that 15-year-old Jacob Latimore is also homies with Simmons. The two have recorded songs together, toured together and probably done things together that Rev. Run wouldn't approve of...teen boys do like their trouble. Despite all that, the Rosenthals still contend they're Diggy's better friend.

Check in with MTV Clutch this weekend because The Check-In will be in Orlando for NBA All-Star Weekend, and we'll be the only place you can find the hilarious videos Eric and Jeff will be doing daily.

Boston Red Sox first baseman Adrian Gonzalez is one hell of a ball player. In 2011, AGon posted 27 homers, 117 RBIs and an impressive .338 batting average all the while making it look way too easy for us mere mortals. When we got wind that Gonzo is this year's cover athlete for the highly acclaimed video game MLB 12-The Show, we were hardly surprised.

MTV Clutch caught up with Boston's strong man along with New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia at the Sony Style store in Midtown Manhattan. Along with checking out the new title, we had a chance to speak to both of them about the video game, being in the room with their "rival" and even superheroes.

L.E.P. Bogus Boys are the unofficial gangsta mayors of Chicago. That's why The Check-In hosts, Eric and Jeff Rosenthal (aka Its The Real), would never dream of checking into their Chi-town hotel before asking for the Boys' approval first. Lucky for them, these true gangstas warmed to them, gave a great interview and even prove just how thug they are by passing the "Roller-Coaster Face" test. There is even a cameo appearance by Don Trip!

Check in with MTV Clutch this weekend because The Check-In will be in Orlando for NBA All-Star Weekend, and we'll be the only place you can find the hilarious videos Eric and Jeff will be doing daily.
