About Us

Welcome to GUY CODE, the official blog of MTV2's "Guy Code" series and your online destination for all things dude, including—but not limited to—irreverent commentary on sports, hip-hop and ladies. Stay awhile and flex your manhood.

In case you hadn't already figured it out based on the amount of dad-related material on Clutch lately, Sunday is Father's Day. And because you're like us, you probably put off figuring out just what you're going to buy the old man this year until now. As usual, we're here to help, partly because we like you but mostly because putting together a Father's Day Gift Guide lets us waste a couple of work days looking at cool crap we'd otherwise buy for ourselves. Furthermore, we've done you the favor of categorizing each of our picks by what type of dad you should buy each for. Not a tie, cufflinks or "World's Best Dad" mug in sight. Couldn't have made it any simpler for you. So, this weekend when your dad thanks you, so moved by your thoughtful gesture that tears are brought to his eyes, remember who he should really be thanking: us.

Earlier this month the Clutch team was with Tennessee Titan running back Chris Johnson talking about all things style in his hometown of Orlando, Florida. It's where you can usually find Johnson whenever he's not on the field ducking defenders, island-hopping with his crew or out popping bottles with his tattoo twin Lil Wayne.

But judging by how spare the decorations were in his off-season pad, we're thinking that Chris and his entourage spend more time out being entertained than actually entertaining. That, or Johnson's still waiting on the delivery of a lime green living room set to match his custom Chevy.

Team Johnson were gracious hosts, though, and a few other players even stopped by to watch.

Hip-hop mogul Jay-Z just launched Life + Times -- a blog to instruct playas on how to live. Anxious to live the Hova life (and marry Beyoncé), we dove into the website’s advice. It’s quickly apparent that to live Z life, you need benjamins (maybe something like Jay’s 500 millie). Check the price tags from Life + Times’ choice nuggets.

1. The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak--$15,000
A $15,000 watch better be “iconic” (as the article promises). Upon its introduction in 1972, the watch cost $3,200 compared to the $270 Rolex Submariner. We couldn’t even afford an Audemars Piguet if we went back in time 40 years.

2. The Rolls Royce Ghost--$245,000
The “Presence” of the Ghost has everything you’d expect a car with a price tag of $245,000 to have, except for Beyoncé.

3. Tasty food made by celebrity chef Daniel Boulud–-$110 for the prix fixe (that’s French for “without the booze”) Boulud owns multiple multi-star restaurants in New York, including the super-posh, 3-star Daniel. The interview mentions DB’s somewhat affordable Vermont hot dog, but those on a budget will still need to miss a meal to afford it.

Fergie's trip into the world of Lego clothing was a bold move, but she's not the first to don an outfit made of the the most flexible, fantastic toys ever. Legos have spawned video games, theme parks, a virtual fashion show, films and, naturally, even Lego porn. It was only a matter of time.

You name it and Legos have taken the shape: a gigantic giraffe, the Death StarMichael Jackson and even that crazy alien scene from "Spaceballs." So Lego clothing and accessories, like those worn by Fergie, are within the realm of multicolored snapping fun that's taken place before. Of course, Legos have never had to support curves as large as Fergie's, so she definitely wins on that count.

Click on for some more photos of Lego and Lego-inspired clothing and accessories.

The dust has finally settled from this year's Consumer Electronics show and we've sorted through all the brochures and thumbed through all the drives. What we've emerged with is this list of stuff that you should buy. It's important to note that the "you" in the previous sentence refers only to those rich enough to own helicopters. So if you don't have a helicopter, stop reading now.

Everyone has at least one timeless band T-shirt crumpled up in the bottom of their closet. We may grow up, change our wardrobe and stop smelling our clothes before deciding to wash them--but we never lose pride in that shirt.

We remember exactly where and when we bought it. We caress the thin, tattered fabric and ponder the long and winding road we've traveled since it came into our possession. In short, this T-shirt defines us. It reveals something about our musical tastes, our ability to care for clothing and our accuracy with condiments. Our band T-shirts are a reflection of who we are.

So what does your band T-shirt say about you? Here's a guide.
