Today's Badass: Inventor's Souped-Up Dining Room Table Is 'Fastest Piece Of Furniture'

Perry Watkins' Queen Anne dining room table is not your average table, largely because it can reach a top speed of 130 mph.

Watkins, a wacky scientist from England, attached a 1994 Reliant Scimitar Sabre and a nitrous oxide kit to his dining room table, which he's aptly named "Fast Food." The mad scientist took the meal-on-wheels down a 500-meter track twice this past weekend and averaged 113.8 mph, which bested the 92 mph set by a sofa in 2007. Yes, a sofa. We don't know if there's a furniture racing league that no one has told us about, but it sounds pretty awesome and we want in.

Among Watkins' other achievements: He previously held the record for the world's lowest car and still holds the record for the smallest car ever made — a toy van with a 150cc engine attached. Next up for Watkins? He'll try to find a lady friend to simultaneously dine with him and cruise around the neighborhood.
