Whether you're looking to get laid or hopelessly searching for The One, there's an app for that. It's called Tinder and it recommends potential partners based on your location. You swipe the person's picture to the right if you're interested and swipe to the left if you're not. If you're a match, it connects you to chat.
With minimal information from Facebook (first name, five photos, quick bio and mutual interests), it can be tough to keep a girl intrigued. Unfortunately, too many guys take the wrong approach. Here are real-life examples of Tinder strategies to avoid...
1. The Surprise Fetish
If you've got a kink, more power to you. But don't expect most people to share it. Want a girl who's into that stuff? Then put it in your profile. If she swipes right, enjoy.
2. The Creepy "Hello"
Real subtle, dude. Start off with something a little more tame. Tell her she looks good. Have an actual conversation, or else she'll reach straight for the "Block" button.
3. The Unwanted Persistence
Well, that escalated quickly. If she doesn't reply to your general friendly advances, then move on -- don't start revealing your fantasies. If she declines to say hi, it's not because she'd rather have anal sex instead.
4. The Boring Conversationalist
It's rarely good to start a sentence with the word "So." It tells her that, if you go out for drinks, she'll probably have to carry the conversation. It's the text equivalent of awkward silence.
5. The Inability To Form A Sentence
It's great that you're up for anything, but don't make a girl question your intelligence. Not making sense and not finishing your sentences is not sexy.
And always remember: Emoji and LOLs break Guy Code.
