The Greatest NBA Playoff Press Conference Outbursts

The NBA playoffs are known for defense, and it doesn’t stop on the court. These press conference videos highlight players’ and coaches’ abilities to defend, reject and outright shut down reporters.

1. Avery Johnson

A good defense is the best offense, and Avery Johnson nails it here by putting the reporter on the hot seat. Johnson had every right to be upset; the 2006 NBA Finals were officiated by Tim Donaghy, the ref who went to jail for betting on games.

2. Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook exhibits what’s known as “hipster rage,” calling someone “bro” while getting angry. The reporters think he’s joking, but when he calls you “bro,” he means business.

3. LeBron James

Hey LeBron, don’t forget to mock the little people!

4. Phil Jackson

It takes a lot to rattle this zen master, but Phil Jackson vented on this reporter…and most likely an unsuspecting bonsai tree.

5. Chris Bosh

“If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?” The same philosophical approach can be taken to this Chris Bosh press conference.

6. Joakim Noah

Joakim Noah‘s comments were tasteless and unnecessary. That being said, he’s right…no one vacations in Cleveland.
