There are two kinds of stiffing a waitress, and a pastor shouldn't be doing either.
But when a St. Louis Applebee's waitress collected the check for a 10-person party from the Truth in the Word Deliverance Ministries, the pastor had crossed out the gratuity and instead written: "I give God 10%, why should you get 18."
The waitress took a photo, which went viral on Reddit and got her fired because, as an Applebee's spokesman told the Huffington Post, "Our Guests' personal information--including their meal check--is private..."
Yeah, sure, but you still have to tip, even if you tithe. There's only one reason to screw your server out of 15-20%, and that's bad service. (Otherwise you'll just sound like the cheap bastard Mr. Pink in "Reservoir Dogs.")
However, religion teaches us to make amends, so the pastor has apologized for the incident: "My heart is really broken. I've brought embarrassment to my church and ministry."
Besides, shouldn't clergy give 110% to God, not just 10%?
