Never get a woman's name tattooed on your body, because you might lose her. And never get a politician's name tattooed on your body, because he might lose.
Back in October, professional wrestler Eric Hartsburg had Mitt Romney's campaign logo (a double "R" for Romney/Ryan) inked on his face, which netted him $15,000 on eBay. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but after President Obama's reelection victory last week, Hartsburg permanently bears the mark of defeat.
"Totally disappointed, man," Hartsburg told Politico. "I'm the guy who has egg all over his face, but instead of egg, it's a big Romney/Ryan tattoo. It's there for life."
Hartsburg's neighbors have harassed him about it ("It's all kinds of ribbage, man. … 'Your guy lost!' 'What are you going to do now?'") but he's keeping a positive attitude: "I was trying to make politics fun. ... I shed blood for this campaign, and I'm glad to know that I did all that I could."
Perhaps the $15,000 will cover laser tattoo removal for the "R." And if not, Hartsburg better hope that Florida Sen. Marco Rubio gets the 2016 GOP nomination.
