"Hip Hop Squares" host Peter Rosenberg doesn't just talk the talk when it comes to being a hip hop fan. In this backstage clip from the show, Rosenberg shows some fanboy love for 'Squares' regular Common by praising the rapper's first two albums, Can I Borrow a Dollar? and Resurrection.
As the two co-stars get combed and shaved (we highly approve of Common's expertly groomed beard), Rosenberg proves his love for hip-hop history as Common recalls how much swag he had back in the day. Taking a trip down memory lane (it's been almost 20 years since Dollar was released), Common agrees that the "fun, uninhibited freedom" of his early songs like "Take It Easy" were a blast to make.
It's fun to watch Rosenberg chat up Common about his indisputable legacy, but we wish he had asked what it was like to voice a penguin in "Happy Feet 2." C'mon, Pete, how could you not ask the hard-hitting questions about that important career milestone?
