5 Gadgets That Drive Pets Crazy

The holidays are almost here and you still have not figured out what to buy some people on your list. Here’s a question: Do they have pets? If so, forgo the kitty sweater vests and organic duck liver dog treats and buy your loved ones something that will bring them hours of enjoyment at the expense of their furry friends. There is nothing funnier than watching a confused Labrador battle a Roomba. We know this because we get many of the latest gadgets and gizmos to review and can’t help but give them the animal test. Here are five of our favorite latest products and how they’ve affected our four-legged pals.

Sphero Robotic Ball

Price: $130
After seeing Sphero at last year’s CES, we just knew there would be multiple ways to enjoy this somewhat innocent-looking orb. Made from ultra strong polycarbonate, sphero can resist most beatings and yet still allow the multicolored LEDs to be seen by every blind cat in the neighborhood. Controlling sphero is simple enough using your Android or iOS-enabled smartphone. Charge it, drop it and for more than an hour you will have man’s best friend looking to kick your a**.

Parrot AR Drone

Price: $300
If you ever wanted to know what your pet did when you left the room or what they were doing when they went to “sleep,” then we have the gadget for you. The Parrot AR Drone is a remote-controlled craft that looks like it was rescued from Area 51 and cloned for home use. It uses your Android or iOS device to hover and spy on anything you can sneak your way into. Just the sound of this device taking off will scare the crap out of your pet. With the ability to hover and fly around, the opportunities to mess with your pet are endless.

iRobot Roomba 780

Price: $550
There’s more than one way to skin a cat. In the case of the iRobot’s Roomba 780 vacuum, not only will it scare the crap out of your cat, but Roomba will clean up the mess it leaves behind. This UFO-looking device roams the floors around your home cleaning debris using Virtual Wall Lighthouse technology to guide it under couches seeking out hairballs left for days. iRobot’s Roomba 780 is an amazing blend of home-cleaning and pet-hazing function.

FroliCat DART

Price: $35
The DART is an automatic rotating laser light that sits on the floor and provides hours of fun for your feline and canine friends as well as their owners. Variable speeds, timer settings and 16 exciting play combinations, place The FroliCAT DART on the floor, sit back, turn it on and watch the chaotic chase begin.

Humunga Pet Stache

Price: $10
Place the Humunga Pet Stache on man’s best friend and watch them become the wiseass of the dog run. On one side is a ball, which Fido will grab not realizing he now looks ridiculous and is the life of the poker game. The Humunga Pet Stache is worth the 10 bucks just for the looks you’ll get on your morning run.
