In 2011, hip-hop memes became a very important part of our everyday internet existence. Whether clowning some random song lyrics or captioning photos of rappers laughing, memes served to single out and poke fun at artists who tend to take themselves way too seriously. If these memes prove anything it's that punch lines can be created out of just about anything. The following seven from this year should inspire you to break out the Photoshop and make your own.
7. Oh You Fancy, Huh?

On Drake's Thank Me Later, he has a song called "Fancy" with T.I. and Swizz Beatz. The song is basically about some girl who bought her own drinks and that's why she's so "fancy." Oh, OK. So what's the best way to honor a song about being fancy? Well, it's creating memes with the hook surrounding items that are far from fancy. Pinkies up!
6. 99 Problems

Lots of words rhyme with b****, but none pack the punch of Disney cartoon character Stitch. While "99 Problems" proves other rappers and their whining are small potatoes to Jay-Z and his empire, adding this little creature with razor-sharp teeth brings the line to a whole new dimension.
5. Lil Wayne's Terrible Puns

See what happened was Lil Wayne got a lot of money, right? So, like, "paper" is slang for "money" and, like, Wayne says he gets paper like loose leaf because ya know, loose leaf comes in massive packs. So that means Lil Wayne gets a lot of money. Get it? Get it? Ugh.
4. Other Rappers With Bad Puns

Sometimes you don't realize how terrible something is until you stare right at it. It's like when people tell you there's a bad accident up the road, and you don't believe how bad it actually is until you drive right past it. The Big Sean line posted above is the lyrical equivalent to witnessing a six-car pileup on a freeway in the middle of a thunderstorm when you're headed to a job interview. After being unemployed for three years.
3. Jay-Z and Kanye West Laughing

When Jay-Z and Kanye West announced that they would be releasing music under the collaborative name "The Throne," a photo circulated of Jay and Ye laughing hysterically. No one really knows what these two found so damn funny, but captions spread like wildfire. The assumed conversations are probably aeons funnier than the actual discussion. For all we know they said, "Hey, there's a camera! Let's pretend to laugh!"
2. Drake In Compromising Photos With Lyrics

Photo: BadYoungMoneyPuns
It's no new revelation that Drake was a Canadian teen heartthrob who spent a large portion of his acting career pretending to be paralyzed. Couple that with the fact that his childhood photos looks like they were peeled off a Chips Ahoy commercial, and the thug credibility flies out the cafeteria door. Adding Drake's arrogant lyrics to these photographic relics makes for quite the good time.
1. Watch the Cradle

Whoever decided that Jay-Z and Kanye West's lyrics off Watch The Throne fit perfectly with baby pictures is a diabolical genius. The entire Throne project boasts extravagant lifestyles and elevated tax brackets. Reading those bragged out punch lines while staring at the mug of a toddler turns the whole "We the Best" fest into playground games.
