Tupac once said, "All I need in this life of sin, is me and my girlfriend." Sure, he was referring to his gun, but a "ride or die" chick by the side of a mic-bearing kingpin is not only a gift; it's a requirement. 2011 brought some new ladies out of the woodwork. Some romances even managed to stay afloat despite the all-around pessimism surrounding them. Whether you're into the PDA or the OPP, there was something for everybody in 2011's Hip-Hop Soap Opera.

Sometimes it seems like T.I. and Tiny are the Mickey and Mallory of hip-hop. These two have been through hell and back together, yet they still are...together. Sharing kids and laughs, the only thing they didn't share was jailtime, as T.I. took the metal bars into his own hands and served yet another prison term this year. Now that he's out, the two are back on the up and up, with a new show called "T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle." Some find them cute, while some find them completely confusing.
6. Chrissy Lampkin
Jim Jones and his lady Chrissy Lampkin took a huge leap of faith putting their relationship on camera for the show "Love & Hip Hop." The duo endures plenty on that strangely enchanting reality show, which follows around rappers and their shorties (like this piece...get it?). The only problem we have with this couple is that they've taken the Jay-Z and Beyoncé vow of silence. We have no idea if these two are married yet or not. Rumors have circulated, but nothing's conclusive.

Sean Kingston looks pretty pleased with himself in this photo. And he should be. After all, that used to be Drake's girlfriend. Yes, Maliah Michel used to be wifed-up by sweater-crazed Drizzy and now she's on the arm of Mr. Kingston. Here's a guy who used to get suicidal over beautiful girls, but now he's doing just fine. And he shouldn't be at all concerned about having one of Drake's leftovers. We all know there' s no velvet rope at Club Drizzy.
4. Serena Williams

Someone grab some measuring tape, because from the looks of it, Common might be Serena Williams' "shortie." This tennis pro and this rap pro have evolved into one of the coolest couples in hip-hop. Com's come a long way from wooing the hearing impaired in his "Come Close" video. Wouldn't it be amazing if he had a twin brother to date Venus? Well, he doesn't so let's just focus on these two, OK?
3. Chanel Iman

It's never been fully confirmed whether or not these two were an actual couple. All we know is that Chanel Iman is 21 and Kanye West...isn't. The model has denied rumors of dating West; meanwhile they've been spotted together. Sounds like Kanye found out Victoria's Secret at their fashion show this year.
2. Amber Rose

Very few people had any faith in Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose's relationship. After Rose and Kanye West split up (he's still mourning it at Watch the Throne Tour stops), Amber got the certified groupie tag prematurely. She and Wiz seem like they're in it for the long haul and having a grand ol' time on the journey. Here we thought she was the Pamela Des Barres of hip-hop. Stupid us; that was Kat Stacks.
1. Chelsea Handler

Whoever said that 50 Cent and Chelsea Handler wouldn't last was absolutely right. However, that doesn't stop them from being the greatest short-lived relationship of 2011. After flirting with Chelsea during a guest appearance on her show "Chelsea Lately," 50 continued to woo the comedian until she finally caved in and took the bait. The two would tweet pics of each other in bed (Rated PG), were spotted making out in clubs and Chelsea even discussed him on her show. Now she mentions him in the past tense. Too bad.
