Monday Morning Lingerie: Big Comeback, Proud Father And Girls Hugging Girls

Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Halftime. The Las Vegas Sin improved to 2-0 with a 28-24 victory over the Mist in Seattle, a game that that played like two contests within one. The Sin roared to a 28-8 halftime lead, capitalizing on Mist turnovers and an ineffective first half performance by the Mist offense. But the second half was an entirely different story as the Mist held the Sin scoreless and drew within four points. Mist backup quarterback Laura Creel, who stepped in for a struggling Angela Rypien, played admirably in the resurgence. The Mist were also battling the clock, though, and the home team’s comeback ran out of time. Click on for a mix of earnest analysis and commentary on funny images.

TWO-WAY STANDOUT OF THE WEEK

Today, MTV Clutch proudly announces its crush on and fear for Sunshine Uli. As a pair of Mist defenders learned the hard way on one of Sunshine’s three catches (above), she’s impossible to take down. Poor Riki Creger-Zier (#4) can’t even look at Sunshine, who stands at 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds. In other words, she’s nearly two bills of unstoppable sexy beast. On defense, Sunshine tallied four tackles, giving her 10 on the season. You’ve been warned, Los Angeles.

SUBSTITUTION OF THE WEEK

Mist head coach Chris Michaelson turned to backup quarterback Laura Creel because Angela Rypien just couldn’t get it going. His decision was rewarded as Creel helped the squad battle back from a 20 point halftime deficit on 7-17 passing for 94 yards and 2 touchdowns. Standout wide receiver Jessica Hopkins hauled in 88 of those yards. Michaelson will have a tough call deciding on his starter before the Mist’s next rodeo against the Valkyrie, which will be a must-win.

I JUST WANT A HUG OF THE WEEK

And she got one. Thanks for obliging, sort of, Natalie Sutey.

SUGGESTIVE SIGN OF THE WEEK

Seattle’s Shea Norton previously told us that her booty had a fan club. She wasn’t lying. Not only does this man love Shea’s backside, but apparently cupcakes love it, too.

RISING STAR OF THE WEEK

Nikki Johnson is the impressive arm of a talented Sin passing attack. She won Game MVP honors and finished with a line of 6/12 passing for 44 yards, 2 touchdowns and 18 yards rushing. That’s not a ton of passing yards but she’s steady at the helm and found her receivers when it counted. Through two games, Johnson is 12/25 passing for 102 yards for 5 touchdowns and no interceptions, plus 41 rushing yards. Nikki will have her biggest challenge of the season when the Sin battle defending champion Los Angeles Temptation this coming Friday.

SHE’S GONE OF THE WEEK

Tracee Thomas had almost 10 yards of separation from Mist defenders on her way to the end zone in the first half. Cool photo. Thomas only carried five times but she made the most of them with 55 total yards and this touchdown scamper.

PROUD FATHER OF THE WEEK

Oh, Dad. Dads love Mastercard commercials. That and old sweatshirts, white-speckled beards, and their little girls. Awww.

AIRBORNE DEFENDER OF THE WEEK

Here’s Shea Norton again, airborne and horizontal this time. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Booty?

LEG UP ON THE COMPETITION OF THE WEEK

Sunshine Uli is flexible. But what we like most about this image is the fan reactions. First, look at the guy off to Sunshine’s right with his hands up and eyes barely opened. He doesn’t want to get drilled by Uli. “Whooooa!” But the best fan reaction: the dude third from the left, in the vest, who is either loving the hit, loving Uli’s flexible move, or both. “Ohhhhhh!”

GRATUITOUS BUTT SHOT OF THE WEEK

Maybe Mist RB/LB Kam Warner was auditioning for Gratuitous Butt Shot honors. Let us think that.
