Call it the "Off the Schneid Bowl." Last week, the Green Bay Chill (0-2) got whacked by the Seattle Mist in the "Mother Nature Bowl." In tonight's contest with the Chicago Bliss (0-1), both the lovely ladies of Wisconsin and the Bliss, which reached the Western Conference Playoffs last year, find themselves desperate for a win. Chicago vs. Green Bay is also a rematch of last year's NFC Championship Game--Packers against Bears--a classic NFL matchup.
For Green Bay, it's a matter of better tackling and pressure up front. They've surrendered a league-high 119.5 yards on the ground and 36.5 points per game. Head coach Gilbert Brown said of the D last week: "Mickey Mouse could have run on us today. It's our tackling. We are not physical enough." Hopefully for the Chill, the Bliss aren't packing Donald Duck in the backfield. Green Bay also needs to improve its red-zone offense: The Anne Erler-led squad entered the Mist's red zone four times last week but managed only one touchdown.
Chicago, led by quarterback Heather "Rockstar" Furr and her dirty pirate mouth, will be hungry tonight before their fans at home. The Bliss recorded only 27 yards passing in its opener, so just about anything will be an improvement. The good news for Chicago is, they've added Yahshi Rice to the defense, the sister of former NFL Pro Bowl defensive end Simeon Rice. She looks like him too, which is kind of scary, but she's quite attractive. Try and reconcile that tonight at 10/9c on MTV2.
