In its latest bid to bite the hand that feeds, "South Park" lampooned Comedy Central's recent Comedy Awards on last Wednesday's episode as the South Park Elementary students held their own version of the show and most notably presented "Madea" creator Tyler Perry with the "Kathy Griffin Award." This award is given to whichever person is most likely to show up and receive the Kathy Griffin Award. Matt Stone and Trey Parker couldn't have chosen a more apt name, and pegged Perry as well for being omnipresent at every awards show possible.
While the Kathy Griffin Award is meant to go to comedians, we think the field can be broadened to include celebrities of every ilk. The following six names should all be on your guest list if you decide to begin an awards show, because they are guaranteed to appear and accept whichever award you bequeath.
6. Kanye West
Sure, he's one of the biggest hip-hop stars in the world, but Kanye West never seems to get tired of people applauding his talent. The above photo was taken recently at the Met Costume Institute Gala. Do you know what that is? Neither do we. But West loves an excuse to dress up and get in front of the cameras. Just be wary. You remember what happened that one time at that awards show.
5. Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi
All of our "Jersey Shore" friends love getting attention. However, it's Snooki you'll see popping up most everywhere, from the WrestleMania XXVII press conference to the Country Music Awards. Spike recently nominated her for "Outstanding Literary Achievement" in their Guy's Choice Awards, and she hasn't stopped tweeting about it.
4. Tommy Lee
Once upon a time, this Mötley Crüe member was the biggest drummer in the world and went through Playboy Playmates like frat boys go through Natty Light cases. Tommy Lee obviously still has the attention bug. He'll probably even DJ your event. In the above photo, he's DJing the IndieVest Party. What? Exactly. He also just accepted a Revolver Golden God Award, which aired on extended, extended cable.
3. Lindsay Lohan
Up until recently, you could get Lindsay Lohan to show up for a keg party. Now, for the countless time, Hollywood's favorite hot mess is remaking her image. She's getting her acting career back on track since she's been cast in the upcoming "Gotti: Three Generations." That means she has to show up for any positive press, like an award. Any award.
2. Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt
What is it this week with our favorite couple from "The Hills"? Are they together? Are they separated? Is there some new plastic surgery? Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are so used to being in front of cameras, they could be on a trip to the grocery store, end up at an awards show and not think anything of it. They love showing up for things.
1. Levi Johnston
In our reality show culture, there are tons of people who have milked their 15 minutes of fame longer than anyone would have thought possible. Yet Levi Johnston, Bristol Palin's baby daddy and constant thorn in the side of Sarah Palin, has done wonders with so little. We still don't know what he does, but always expect to see his photos at a red carpet. After going to the Teen Choice Awards as Kathy Griffin's date, how could we put anyone else in our top spot?
