The internet has spilled a lot of cyberwords about the cast of “Black Swan” and one intense girl-on-girl scene of Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis tongue karate. The film hits theaters this Friday, and while we’ll give a virtual high-five for the Portman-Kunis action, you should know that “Black Swan” is more than just the pair of über-hot stars–the rest of the cast includes Kristina Anapau, Ksenia Solo, Winona Ryder and Janet Montgomery. If you’re not familiar with some of those ladies, click those links. They’re worth it.
Our point here is that the entire cast of “Black Swan” is worth drooling over. But how does it stack up against some of the other sexy female casts in recent cinematic history? We took a look at the most babe-filled movies of the past 10 years, and offer this run down of the very best. Of course we could only include so many, so tell us if we missed your favorite.
“Mean Girls” (2004)
Captain: Rachel McAdams
Rest of the cast: Lacey Chabert, Amanda Seyfried, Lindsay Lohan, Lizzy Caplan, Tina Fey
Why it might be the hottest cast: This was Lindsay Lohan at her peak, Rachel McAdams at her apex, and Lacey and Amanda at their pinnacle. Some guys dig mean girls, and we’re those guys. Lizzy Caplan, who played the free spirit that she plays just about every movie she’s ever been in, was a bonus.
Watch or mute: Tina Fey wrote it. So yeah.
“Valentine’s Day” (2010)
Captain: Jessica Alba
Rest of the cast: Jessica Biel, Jennifer Garner, Anne Hathaway, Emma Roberts, Julia Roberts, Taylor Swift
Why it might be the hottest cast: There’s a woman for every taste in this movie. It’s like a buffet of hotness. Butt guys have Biel. Boob guys get Hathaway. Mouth guys get both Roberts ladies. And everything guys have Alba.
Watch or mute: It’s a formulaic, predictable romantic comedy. So yeah, it’s not good, but if you must watch it with your girlfriend, at least you can ogle all the fine women.
“Charlie’s Angels – Full Throttle” (2003)
Captain: Demi Moore
Rest of the Cast: Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu
Why it might be the hottest cast: This was Demi Moore’s triumphiant post-40 return, and as you can see, she was flashing some serious bikini cleavage. Not “Striptease” cleavage, that’s reserved for Kutch (and Twitter), but you’ll get your Netflix-fee worth. And oh yeah, there’s Charlie’s Angels.
Watch or mute: It wasn’t great, but worth a watch if only to see the late great Bernie Mac play Bosley.
“He’s Just Not That Into You” (2009)
Captain: Scarlett Johansson
Rest of the Cast: Jennifer Connelly, Jennifer Aniston, Ginnifer Goodwin, Busy Phillips
Why it might be the hottest cast: Like “Valentine’s Day,” there’s a variety of women for every taste. We’ll take the captain, Scarlett Johansson.
Watch or mute: Mute. Definitely mute. It’s based on a popular book which helps women understand the male psyche and teaches them how to them decode when guys are just in it for sex. Good for them, but don’t subject yourself to this.
“The Rules of Attraction” (2002)
Captain: Jessica Biel
Rest of the Cast: Shannyn Sossamon, Kate Bosworth, Clare Kramer
Why it might be the hottest cast: Jessica Biel went blonde for this adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ novel, and she shows off a whole lot of her ridiculous body. So does the rest of the cast as they all dabble in quite a bit of sex and drugs, and, yes, even a little rock and roll. Unfortunately, Sossamon and Kramer didn’t go on to find as much fame as their castmates, which we assume is the fault of the terrible hat.
Watch or mute: It’s a dark, twisted and totally watchable movie. Recommended viewing!
“Kill Bill Vol. 1″ (2002)
Captain: Uma Thurman
Rest of the Cast: Vivica A. Fox, Lucy Liu, Julie Dreyfus, Chiaki Kuriyama, Daryl Hannah
Why it might be the hottest cast: Gorgeous women, tight leather, martial arts and solid acting. What else can you ask for?
Watch or mute: Although “Kill Bill Vol. 2″ might be the better film, Vol. 1. was still excellent and vintage Tarantino, which is to say, awesomely demented.
“Whip It” (2009)
Captain: Ellen Page
Rest of the Cast: Drew Barrymore, Kristen Wiig, Eve, Juliette Lewis, Zoe Bell, Ari Graynor, Alia Shawkat
Why it might be the hottest cast: What’s not to love about some of the best funny women in Hollywood? We’re officially going public with our crush on Ellen Page, who’s as talented as she is gorgeous, and she looks great alongside “SNL”‘s Kristen Wiig as well as the rest of a rich cast of not-just-hot blondes. And as long as we’re talking about crushes, two words: Maeby Funke!
Watch or mute: It’s a good flick and well worth a watch, especially if you’re into attractive women smashing each other in a roller rink, which we assume is all of you. Don’t expect it to be “Mighty Ducks” though.
