Iran Style Guide Bans Mullets; Billy Ray Cyrus Weeps

In an effort to distance itself from American culture and its heinous hair hallmarks, Iran’s culture ministry recently created a catalogue of acceptable haircuts. Not included: that unfortuante look your uncle Mitch calls “business in the front and party in the back.”

Mullets aren’t the only ‘do to come under fire in the “Journal of Iranian hairstyles.” Ponytails and elaborate spikes have been nixed too.

If you think this is a joke, go ahead and try to wear a mullet in Tehran. You’ll find yourself on the wrong side of an Iranian police “morality check.” There is a bit of good news for mullet-lovers in this though. The ruling makes it clear that Iranian officials consider mullets an actual “hairstyle,” contradicting the belief that they kind of just happen.

To celebrate Iran’s good taste, we present the most mullet-tastic music video of all time, Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Achy Breaky Heart.” Sidenote: Discussion of mullets is the only thing that will ever get us to post a BRC video. Promise.
